About

The project is aimed at providing legal aid to victims of the armed conflict in Ukraine, protecting their rights and representing their interests at the national and international levels.  Legal assistance includes, but is not limited to, legal advice, preparation of legal documents and representation of victims' interests before state authorities, including courts, both at the national and international levels. Legal assistance will be provided in identified cases of CRSV, human trafficking, incitement to genocide/hate crimes, etc.

Key Results

  • The project team worked on the 6 cases related to the identified cases of CRSV: the area of legal aid, providing legal advice, drafting legal documents, and representing the interests of victims in government agencies.
  • Legal consultations assisted victims in filing complaints with the ECtHR regarding violations of their rights during the war, such as unlawful detention, torture, or property damage. On average, the project provided 5-10 consultations per client per month.
  • The event «Legal Assistance for War Victims» was organized in partnership with local authorities and human rights organizations, and aimed to inform citizens about the legal options available to them in light of the ongoing conflict.
