Supporting the Expert Working Group to Develop a Concept for Ukraine’s State Policy on Conflict-Related Grave Crimes

About

The project supports the work of an expert working group established to develop the concept of Ukraine’s state policy on justice for grave international crimes committed in the context of the armed conflict. The initiative brings together leading civil society experts in international justice, human rights, rule of law, and public policy to build a shared strategic vision for strengthening Ukraine’s justice system.

The project includes facilitated strategic sessions, expert consultations, analytical work, and cross-sectoral dialogue involving representatives of government institutions, civil society organisations, and international partners. It also creates a collaborative environment that enables open discussion of complex issues, supports evidence-based policy development, and strengthens cooperation among key stakeholders.

Expected results

  • A shared vision for the development of Ukraine’s state policy on conflict-related grave crimes is established among the members of the expert working group.
  • Cooperation and coordination between civil society organisations, experts, and other key stakeholders are strengthened.
  • Fnalytical materials and recommendations are developed to support the drafting of the state policy concept.
  • Priority steps for advancing the drafting process and future advocacy of the policy concept are identified and systematised.
  • The expert working group is strengthened as a sustainable platform for developing policy solutions aimed at ensuring justice for victims of grave international crimes.
