The project aims to strengthen the capacity of Ukraine’s national justice system to effectively adjudicate cases involving the most grave international crimes committed during an armed conflict, through legal, institutional and strategic reforms.
It focuses on improving access to justice for victims and persons affected by the conflict, as well as promoting systemic changes that will align domestic legislation with the standards of international humanitarian and criminal law.
The first component of the Project is aimed at strengthening Ukraine’s political foundation in the field of conflict-related justice by promoting the development of national policy on accountability for the most grave international crimes. The second component of the Project involves developing an effective investigation strategy to build a strategic case regarding attacks on civilians using drones.
